Exclusive | Houthi Leadership Meeting Revealed Plans Targeting Marib Oil Fields and Southern Saudi Arabia
Sheba Intelligence has obtained intelligence indicating that the Houthi movement is preparing for a new phase of military escalation focused on Marib Governorate, with oil infrastructure, military installations, and government facilities identified among the priority targets.
According to intelligence sources, Houthi war planners have designated Marib’s oil fields and targets in southern Saudi Arabia as two urgent operational objectives.
The intelligence follows a closed-door meeting chaired by Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi, held approximately 18 hours before the missile and drone attacks that struck Yemeni military camps earlier today.
Sources told Sheba Intelligence that the meeting was attended by 15 operational commanders representing members of the group’s so-called Jihadi Council, including six senior aides to Yusuf al-Madani, Chief of Staff of the Houthi forces, as well as four officers from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to the sources, al-Houthi used the meeting to mobilize senior commanders for the next phase of the conflict, telling participants: “Our major battle is with Saudi Arabia.”
The sources further stated that the Houthi Joint Operations Room expanded its target list to include Aden International Airport, government facilities in Taiz and Marib, in addition to military camps, indicating preparations for a broader campaign extending beyond frontline engagements.
The intelligence also revealed significant changes within al-Houthi’s personal security apparatus. According to the sources, a senior IRGC officer operating under the alias Hajj Abu al-Hassan al-Gharawi has recently appeared within al-Houthi’s close protection detail.
In addition, the sources said that a Lebanese Hezbollah operative who previously served on the personal security team of former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has assumed command of Abdul Malik al-Houthi’s personal protection unit, reflecting what the sources described as a growing reliance on Iranian and Hezbollah personnel for the movement’s inner security.
Separately, intelligence sources reported disruptions affecting internet connectivity linking Sana’a and Marib. While the cause has not been independently established, the timing is being assessed by the sources as a possible operational indicator consistent with preparations for military activity rather than, by itself, evidence of an imminent attack.
Sheba Intelligence has not independently verified the identities or previous roles of the individuals identified in this report, nor has it independently confirmed that the meeting resulted in direct operational orders for the attacks carried out today. No comment has been issued by the Houthi movement, Iranian authorities, or Hezbollah regarding these claims.
