Intelligence sources told Sheba Intelligence that the Houthis have recently moved protective, detection, decontamination and containment equipment designed for chemical and biological hazards. The activity coincided with the stockpiling of large quantities of dual-use chemicals and the training of technicians to handle them.

A warehouse containing some of these materials and equipment reportedly exploded in recent hours. The cause remains unknown, including whether it resulted from improper storage, an accidental incident or an external strike.

The activity raises concerns about possible preparations involving toxic materials or other unconventional capabilities. However, the available evidence does not establish that the Houthis possess or intend to use chemical or biological weapons.

Sheba Intelligence is withholding the locations of the facilities for security reasons.
