More than 900 Houthi fighters neutralized and 287 military assets destroyed or disabled in the latest operations

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they had conducted 1,732 precision strikes against Houthi military targets as government troops continued advancing along multiple offensive fronts under Operation “Dawn of Yemen.”

According to the military statement, the operations resulted in the neutralization of more than 900 Houthi fighters and the destruction or disabling of over 287 military vehicles, weapons systems, and other equipment.

The strikes involved fighter aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), field artillery, and multiple-launch rocket systems, targeting Houthi defensive positions, fortifications, command-and-control centers, surveillance and reconnaissance posts, artillery and rocket-launching positions, and military reinforcement concentrations.

The operations also targeted weapons and ammunition depots, military transport and supply vehicles, and high-value military assets located deeper inside Houthi-controlled territory.

The Armed Forces said the strikes had suppressed hostile fire, disrupted Houthi command-and-control networks, and impeded the movement of reinforcements and military supplies to frontline positions.

Government forces continued penetrating Houthi defensive lines and expanding their territorial advances in accordance with the operational plan, the statement added.

Background: Mounting Military Pressure Since the Launch of Dawn of Yemen

The latest announcement comes amid an expanding military campaign launched in early October to restore government control over territories held by the Houthis.

Operation “Dawn of Yemen,” announced on October 4–5, has involved coordinated ground offensives and extensive aerial operations across several fronts, including Marib, Al-Jawf, Taiz, and the western coast near Bab al-Mandab.

Military statements issued since the launch of the operation have reported thousands of precision strikes, thousands of Houthi fighters neutralized, and extensive losses of military vehicles and equipment.

An arithmetic aggregation of six previously reported operational figures, including the latest announcement, produces a minimum of 11,336 targeting operations and 7,027 Houthi fighters neutralized, according to the figures released by the Yemeni Armed Forces.

The statements also identify at least 1,005 military vehicles and pieces of equipment destroyed or disabled, excluding additional losses described without precise numerical figures.

These totals are provisional and should not be treated as an officially verified cumulative tally until the reporting periods are confirmed to be non-overlapping.

Separately, the Saudi-led coalition announced the destruction of 324 high-value targets at the beginning of the campaign, followed by 82 additional military targets on October 8 and 136 on October 9, bringing the combined figure from those three announcements to 542 military targets.

The coalition has also reported providing continuous air support to Yemeni government forces and conducting operations aimed at dismantling Houthi ballistic missile capabilities and military infrastructure.

Military Implications

The latest operations indicate that government forces are combining sustained firepower with ground advances to weaken Houthi defensive positions and restrict their ability to reinforce threatened fronts.

The concentration of strikes on command centers, supply routes, artillery positions, and military concentrations suggests an effort to disrupt battlefield coordination and logistical support while facilitating further territorial advances.

The effectiveness of this strategy will depend on whether government forces can consolidate their gains, maintain supply lines, and prevent Houthi units from reorganizing defensive positions.

The continued expansion of Operation “Dawn of Yemen” also underscores the strategic importance of the campaign's multiple fronts, particularly the approaches to Bab al-Mandab and the contested areas of Marib, Al-Jawf, and Taiz.
