Yemeni military reports 1,164 strikes in 24 hours, 558 Houthi fighters neutralized, and 135 military vehicles and assets destroyed or disabled.

Yemen’s armed forces announced on Monday that they had carried out 1,164 strikes against Houthi military positions and concentrations over the past 24 hours as part of the ongoing Dawn of Yemen offensive, reporting fresh territorial gains in Taiz and continued offensive operations in Shabwa, the southern fronts, the western coast, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

According to military statements monitored by Sheba Intelligence, the latest operations bring the reported cumulative number of strikes since the offensive began on October 4 to more than 23,738, as government forces continue a large-scale military campaign targeting Houthi combat capabilities, defensive positions, and supply routes.

The military said the latest operations had neutralized 558 Houthi fighters, including field commanders, and destroyed or disabled 135 military vehicles and other assets.

According to the statement, the strikes involved fighter aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), field artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems, and sniper units. The attacks targeted Houthi troop concentrations, reinforcements, fortifications, firing positions, and supply lines.

Government Forces Report New Gains in Taiz

In Taiz governorate, the military said its assault units had captured additional positions, forcing Houthi fighters to retreat under intensive air and artillery support.

The statement did not identify the newly captured positions or specify the extent of the territorial advances.

Taiz remains one of the most significant battlegrounds of the Dawn of Yemen offensive, with continued fighting over strategic high ground and positions controlling key movement and supply routes.

In recent days, government forces also announced the capture of senior Houthi security, military, and field commanders in Taiz, amid reports that the group had deployed additional security and military personnel from areas under its control to reinforce the front.

Offensive Operations Continue in Shabwa and Southern Fronts

In Shabwa and across the southern fronts, the Yemeni military reported continued offensive pressure on Houthi positions, aimed at restricting the group's movements and preventing it from reorganizing its combat formations or deploying additional reinforcements and reserves.

These developments coincide with a sharp escalation in Shabwa following a missile attack on the Al-Alam training camp in Jardan district on Monday.

The Yemeni military spokesperson accused the Houthis of carrying out the attack using three ballistic missiles. Local sources reported that the death toll had risen to approximately 45, although the final casualty figures could not be independently verified.

The attack prompted an official response from the Yemeni government. Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi instructed the relevant authorities to provide medical treatment for the wounded, support the families of those killed, and take appropriate measures against those responsible for the attack.

Fighting Continues Along the Western Coast and Bab al-Mandab

Along the western coastal front and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the military said government forces had repelled assaults by Houthi formations, established fire control over their movement corridors, and struck troop assembly areas and firing positions.

This front carries considerable strategic importance because of its proximity to the Bab al-Mandab Strait, one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, and its role in military operations aimed at controlling roads and elevated positions overlooking Yemen's western coastline.

The latest military statements indicate that fighting remains active across this sector, although no specific changes in territorial control were announced.

Cumulative Strikes Exceed 23,738 Since the Offensive Began

According to Sheba Intelligence's cumulative monitoring of official military statements, the reported number of strikes conducted under the Dawn of Yemen offensive has surpassed 23,738 as of October 19.

On October 18, the Yemeni military reported 1,326 strikes, approximately 370 Houthi fighters neutralized, and dozens of military vehicles destroyed or disabled.

A comparison of the two daily statements shows that the reported number of strikes declined by approximately 12.2%, while the reported number of Houthi fighters neutralized increased from around 370 to 558, representing a rise of approximately 51%.

However, this comparison does not necessarily indicate a corresponding change in actual battlefield losses, given differences in target types, operational conditions, and the absence of independently verified casualty data.

Sustained Military Pressure Across Multiple Fronts

The latest military statements suggest that government forces are maintaining offensive operations across several fronts, with a reported emphasis on targeting reinforcements, fortifications, and firing positions while pursuing ground advances in Taiz and the southern and western sectors.

Continued fighting in Taiz, Shabwa, and along the western coast indicates that the offensive extends beyond air and artillery strikes to include coordinated ground operations intended to expand territorial control and limit the Houthis' ability to maneuver, regroup, and redeploy their forces.

Nevertheless, the extent of the reported territorial gains and the actual scale of battlefield losses remain difficult to establish independently, particularly in the absence of detailed information identifying positions that have changed hands.

The Yemeni military maintained that its strikes targeted legitimate military objectives following verification procedures and the implementation of precautions intended to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
